Hello! I am Megan and here is a first person account of life experiences and worldviews: I was born in Northern California at the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, I am inspired and passionate about the flora, fauna and epic landscapes of the west. Spending much of my life immersed in the wild, I am drawn to adventure and exploration. This has lead me to some pretty fascinating and far off places. When not getting lost somewhere across the world I am either working (often creating, but more often actually working) or studying. I attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with a BFA in 2011. In 2013 I completed a 250 Herbal Medicine course in Reno, Nevada and a summer apprenticeship with Nevada City herbalist Kathi Keville. In 2015 I traveled to Southeast Asia where I learned & earned a Permaculture Design Certificate at the Panya Project outside of Chiang Mai, Thailand and participated in a Permaculture trek through the Himalayas in Nepal. I have joyfully and gratefully attended herb conferences across the United States, learning from some of the most profound and intelligent herbalists out there, all of which inspire me to further my herbal education. I am currently living far from my western homelands in Montpelier, Vermont studying to become a clinical herbalist at the Vermont Center for Intergrative Herbalism. Here in Vermont, I continue to juggle selling vintage clothing (Gold Seam Vintage), attend school and practice creative work; digital design, illustration and medicine making (The Good Witch) included.
As a learning, growing and passionate herbalist I am dedicated to the wisdom of plants, the power of patterns and the intuition in which our bodies hold. Recognizing each of us as a dynamic and complex individual, yet connected to one another in so many ways, we are living in a macro focused society in need of growth and health on micro level. My goal within my community is to use herbalism to create stronger community, building trust in ourselves, our neighbors and the natural world right outside our doors.
As an artist, educator, medicine maker, and more, I hope to help transform the dreams and ideas sprouting in our hearts (and minds) into productive pursuits so that we may see our visions come to life. Whether developing and designing to further your business, creating a custom herbal formula to help raise you to your potential or inspiring you to take steps towards dream actualization, Heart Hand Land seeks to encompass and provide a full range of services.
